June through September offers the full experience — warm weather, Maid of the Mist running, and fireworks on Friday and Sunday evenings. For fewer crowds, visit May or October. Winter is spectacular for the ice formations but some attractions close.

When does Maid of the Mist run?

Maid of the Mist typically runs from mid-April to late October, weather permitting. Peak season is May through September.

When are the Niagara Falls fireworks?

Seasonal fireworks run Friday and Sunday evenings from late May through September, plus holiday dates. They start at 10pm in summer. The best viewing is from Clifton Hill or Table Rock.

Is Niagara Falls worth visiting in winter?

Yes — the frozen falls and ice formations are genuinely spectacular. Most attractions stay open year-round, though Maid of the Mist and some outdoor experiences are closed. Crowds are minimal and prices are lower.

How crowded is Niagara Falls in summer?

Very crowded in July and August. Weekends especially. If you're visiting in peak summer, start early (before 10am) or visit on a weekday to avoid the worst of it. A private tour helps you navigate the crowds more efficiently.
