What private means here

The vehicle holds only your group. We collect you from your own door, not from a meeting point, and we do not wait for other passengers or follow a fixed departure. When you stop, how long you stay and when you head home are decided with you.

In winter that matters more than it does in summer. Between the falls and the festival you are outside in the cold, then back in a warm car, then outside again. A group tour keeps one schedule for everyone. Here, if you want longer at the lit falls or a coffee before the lights, we do that.

How the evening goes

  1. Afternoon pickup. Evening trips usually leave the GTA between 1 and 2 pm, so you arrive as the light goes. The drive is about 90 minutes in good conditions.
  2. The lit falls. The coloured lighting starts at about 4:30 pm in November and December.
  3. The Festival of Lights. The Niagara Parkway, the Fallsview district and Lundy’s Lane, more than 8 km of displays, lit from 5 pm. We drive it and stop where you want to walk. The festival suggests parking at Table Rock or Clifton Hill to walk the falls end.
  4. Fireworks, on the right nights. If your date has a show, we plan around the 8 pm start.
  5. Home. We drive you back to your door. Nobody has to drive the QEW in the dark after a cold night outside.

The fireworks nights

The festival fireworks are at 8:00 pm on these nights:

  • Fridays and Saturdays from 14 November to 12 December
  • Every night from 18 December to 2 January
  • Friday and Saturday on 8 and 9 January
  • On 31 December, a show at 8 pm and another at midnight.

There are no fireworks from 13 December to 17 December. The lights are still on those nights.

What is open instead of the boat

The boat cruises are seasonal and are usually finished for the winter. What stays open: Journey Behind the Falls, Skylon Tower and the Niagara Parks Power Station are all open year-round. Check the operator’s hours for the evening you pick, because we do not quote them here. Last Christmas, Niagara Parks ran its main attractions on shorter holiday hours, and the WEGO bus does not run on 25 December. The 2026 hours are announced in December, so check niagaraparks.com. The falls and the lights are there as usual.

We can book tickets for the ones you choose. You pay the ticket cost on top of the trip.

Pick a date

$650 flat for up to 5, plus HST, for up to 5 people. A deposit holds the date.

Frequently asked questions

Can you do the Winter Festival of Lights as a private tour from Toronto?

Yes. We pick you up in the afternoon anywhere in the GTA, drive you to Niagara Falls to arrive for the evening lighting, and take you through the Festival of Lights, which is lit nightly from 5:00 pm to midnight. The vehicle and guide are just for your group, up to 5 people.

Which nights should we pick for the fireworks?

The festival fireworks are at 8:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from 14 November to 12 December, nightly from 18 December to 2 January, and Friday 8 and Saturday 9 January. There are no fireworks from 13 December to 17 December. On 31 December there is a show at 8 pm and one at midnight. If you want the fireworks, tell us the date when you book and we plan the evening around the 8 pm show.

Is the Festival of Lights free?

Yes, the festival is free to walk and drive through, and the fireworks are free to watch. What is extra: parking, food, and any attraction you add. Dufferin Islands takes voluntary donations toward its displays.

What is open at Niagara Falls on a winter evening?

The falls are lit every night. The boat cruises are seasonal and are usually finished for the winter, so we plan around what stays open instead. Journey Behind the Falls, Skylon Tower and the Niagara Parks Power Station are open year-round, so check the operator’s hours for the evening you choose. On Christmas Day, Niagara Parks has run its main attractions on shorter holiday hours and the WEGO bus does not run, so check before you go.

How is a private trip different from a bus tour?

You are not on a fixed departure. We collect you from your own door at a time that suits you, the vehicle holds only your group, and when you stop, how long you stay, and when you head home are decided with you rather than by a schedule shared with strangers.

What if the weather is bad?

We run rain or shine. The falls look spectacular in any weather. In extreme weather (ice storms, severe warnings), we’ll contact you to reschedule. We never charge for weather-related cancellations on our end.
